A nice view of the Polymer Plant on a moon lit night in summer. On May 6, 1951 at 10:25 pm there was a large explosion at the plant which in the days of the Cold War, was almost thought to have been a nuclear attack. Some windows were broken on the Port Huron side of the river. Of course I quickly ran down to the corner of the street (Center Ave.) to view the fire which was directly across the river I was 10 years old and it was a grand spectacular event. The fire was within the tall cracking towers on the left of the main building.
