Narragansett Chapter AMC gives highest award to Mike Krabach
presented by Ed Poyer, the Leadership Chair.
Bonnie England, out going Chapter Chair is holding the plaque with all the previous Appie awards.

The Appie of the Year is the Narragansett Chapter’s highest award. It is presented to a member who exemplifies the mission of the AMC to “promote the protection, enjoyment, and wise use of the mountains, rivers, and trails of the Appalachian region”. We present this Award to recognize a volunteer’s efforts and successes, to reinforce AMC ethics and culture and to inspire others to emulate our most generous and productive members.

This year’s Appie of the Year was presented to Mike Krabach for his work on the Chapter website. He is also the sea kayaking sub-chair.

Sarah Rich Receives Chapter John Clark Award
presented by Brian Phillips, the Tech Climbing Sub-chair.

Our second highest award, the John Clark Award, was presented to Sarah Rich for her behind the scenes effort in organizing and contributions to the tech climbing committee. This award is given in fond memory of a respected member now deceased. Recipients are chosen for their dedication and hard work behind the scenes - these are the unsung heroes.
