While the $6 price is right, the sizing is a little small for the advertised size men's 11-13. The shoe in the photo is size 11. The studs are mainly in the toe area, so going down hill with out heal studs will be difficult. The rubber is nothing special, appearing to be regular rubber, not silicon rubber. But for hiking where you might encounter glare ice, these seem adequate. I consider them better than the Yaktrax and cheaper.
