After entering Coot Bay from the canal we paddled to the west with the wind, looking for the entrance to Mud Lake. We decided that it
was better to paddle back, and after resting behind a sheltered section of the Bay, we started out into the lake against a gusty wind.

Leaving a protected section of land, we paddle back out into the 15-20 mph wind coming
from the East. In Coot Bay in this section the water is only about 3 feet deep.
