AMC New Headquarters Updated

10 City Square

Boston, MA, September 18, 2017 – The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) today announced the opening of it's new organizational headquarters located at 10 City Square in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood, following the September sale of its long-time Beacon Hill headquarters. Centrally located across the Charles River from North Station, AMC’s newly purchased building is surrounded by historic landmarks and a variety of revitalized urban open spaces, including adjacent City Square Park and John Harvard Mall, Paul Revere Park, and the Boston National Historical Park. Leaders Reward Program

Yippee!

The Narragansett Chapter executive board has decided at its January meeting to offer the leader reward program again in 2018 to our chapter leaders.

If you lead 6 or more trips next year (defined as the period from November 1, 2017 through October 31, 2018), and qualify for the rewards program, you get a free membership in 2019!

A Narragansett chapter leader qualifies for free AMC renewal membership in the 2019 calendar year, paid to the AMC by the Narragansett chapter prior to the expiration date of the leader’s membership in 2018, based on our Leaders Reward program.

Our leaders and committee members are volunteers who enjoy donating their time and expertise for the benefit of the AMC, so that our members can enjoy the outdoor opportunities we offer. The Narragansett Chapter has a trip leader and committee member profile page to credit and introduce our leaders and committee members to the membership.

If you are a trip leader, a committee member, serve in some other capacity for the club, or served as an active past leader, and have not submitted a profile, we encourage you to share a profile with the chapter. Submitting information for the profile page is strictly voluntary, but in the spirit of the AMC, I hope most of you will contribute. Read more...

Volunteers make the AMC what it is. The Chapter needs help in the following positions. Even if you don't feel that you have all the qualifications, but want to help our Chapter, contact the respective leaders to see if you can help out. You might find out that you have leadership qualities that you did not know about. Lend your style and experience to enhance and improve the Chapter.

Who are the Young Members?

On the North-South Trail.

The Young Members group is here to maximize the AMC experience for 20 and 30-something, and adults of all ages who still think they're 20 or 30-something.

Really all you need to be is young at heart! You may find us at social events and group outings, or out on the trails hiking, camping, paddling, cycling and other activities! Recently we hiked the 78 mile North South trail in it's entirety over several weekends, and now we are planning to start section hiking the 95 mile long Mid-State trail. Our trips are posted on the AMC Narragansett website, as well as on our Facebook group. Members and prospective members are encouraged to join: www.facebook.com.
