Narragansett Harvest Festival, AMC Cardigan Lodge, NH
Fri-Sun, Oct. 19-21

A Harvest of activities and fun for members, family, and guests - complete with Halloween celebration and contra dancing(!), hikes & walks (all levels), paddling, local tours, lawn games, and some unannounced activities too . Enjoy crisp autumn air and breathtaking mountain & lake views, all in the beautiful New Hampshire forest. Factor in the first-class full service accommodations of the recently renovated AMC Cardigan Lodge and you can easily see why this is THE must-attend chapter event of the year.

Now in its 77th year, Cardigan Lodge, Alexandria, NH, is about 3.5 hrs from Providence. Rooms are mainly 3-6 person bunk bedrooms, with some Private and Family rooms with baths also available. It has a large dining room, a very comfortable living room alcove with crackling fireplace, and a sunny deck facing Mt Cardigan. New windows and central heating and insulation make it a very pleasant and comfortable forest accommodation. And manager Tom Fisher's famous hospitality and incredible kitchen and staff are renowned throughout the North East outdoor community. The Lodge is surrounded by 1200 acres of AMC land and abuts the 5000 acre Mt. Cardigan State Forest. For directions, photos, and additional facility information see Cardigan Lodge (www.outdoors.org/lodging/cardigan/index.cfm).

So pack up your hiking boots, your paddling booties, and your dancing shoes and head on up to Cardigan with us for a weekend of fun this October 19-21.

*We have just added a very exciting new astronomy program to our activities for the Fall Festival weekend at Cardigan Lodge. The 'star' of the show is Dr. Doug Arion, Director of the Carthage Institute of Astronomy, and he is bringing his very popular astronomy program which includes a presentation as well as an observing session. And, as with all the activities during this weekend, there is no additional charge for this very special opportunity.
