Fri-Sun, Oct. 3-5
A weekend of activities and fun for members, family, and guests. Hikes & walks (all levels), paddling, local tours, lawn games, and some unannounced activities too. Enjoy crisp autumn air and breathtaking mountain & lake views, all in the beautiful New Hampshire forest. Factor in the first-class full service accommodations of the renovated AMC Cardigan Lodge and you can easily see why this is THE must-attend chapter event of the year. This weekend only occurs every other year.
Now in its 79th year, Cardigan Lodge, Alexandria, NH, is about 3.5 hrs from Providence. Rooms are mainly 3-6 person bunk bedrooms, with some Private and Family rooms with baths also available. It has a large dining room, a very comfortable living room alcove with crackling fireplace, and a sunny deck facing Mt Cardigan. New windows and central heating and insulation make it a very pleasant and comfortable forest accommodation. And manager Tom Fisher's famous hospitality and incredible kitchen and staff are renowned throughout the North East outdoor community. The Lodge is surrounded by 1200 acres of AMC land and abuts the 5000 acre Mt. Cardigan State Forest.
