AMC 2006 Fall Gathering

Please mark your calendar for October 13-15 for the 2006 Fall Gathering. The “gatherings” are special events that happen twice a year, and each one is hosted by a different chapter. They draw members from all other chapters. The 2006 Fall Gathering will be hosted by our chapter. The event will be filled with fun activities, various meetings and educational workshops and entertainment (and, of course, great food). All members are encouraged to attend.

Change to A5 Bike Ride.
8:30 - 12:00 Alton Jones Campus Biking
7- 9 mile ride on roads around beautiful/historic 2300 acre property. About 40% of the roads are paved; remainder are smooth, stable gravel dirt roads. There are a few spots where we will dismount and walk down short hills. See delightful mix of pine groves, pleasant forests, numerous ponds, interesting buildings, historic places and deer viewing at a leisurely (slow) pace. No competing traffic! Time required: 2-3 hours. Hybrid or mountain bikes recommended; standard intermediate sized tire road bikes okay as long as the rider has experience and success on dirt roads. Bring water & lunch, windbreaker, bug spray. Long sleeves & tights or long pants are suggested. Helmet req’d. L. Jack Schempp (401) 331-4553
