cape_camp08.JPG While going up East Cape Canal, a ranger stopped and talked with us before continuing up the canal. By coincidence he recognized me from a previous night at one of the evening amphitheater lectures. He was there when I had tried to help Ranger Sara with setting up a fussy projector. He was gently chided by Ranger Sara (obviously a fellow ranger) for smoking a cigar in the audience, which he promptly put out. People were actually moving away from the drifting smoke during the lecture, which was a clue that the aroma from a good cigar does not have the prestige it used to have. |
